About Us

Oberlin Global Studies and Language Immersion Magnet Middle School provides all students with the skills and knowledge to take action as competitive and compassionate world citizens. Through a globally infused curriculum in four core and two elective classes, students investigate local and global issues, aligning the North Carolina Standard Course of Study with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Oberlin students select unique, global studies electives, including authentic language and cultural learning experiences in French, Mandarin, or Spanish classes. Our Mandarin and Spanish Immersion students continue their K-5 studies through integrated core and elective offerings in their target language. Oberlin students develop the perspectives, competencies, awareness, and empathy needed to participate in a globally connected world; Oberlin today, the world tomorrow.
